Coaching is a powerful tool that can transform your professional conversations, increase motivation and productivity in your team and foster a culture of openness, collaboration and high performance. This course is aimed at senior and middle leaders who are interested in gaining a coaching qualification and going on to develop a coaching culture within their school.

Objectives:

  • To understand and practice using a coaching approach
  • To gain a deeper awareness of the importance of feedback in coaching
  • To gain an understanding of how an effective coaching culture can impact in your school

 

This course will be delivered by Tony Woodward in four face-to-face sessions. Tony is an Education Leadership Consultant, trainer and coach with almost 20 years of Headteacher experience, most recently in a Haringey primary school.  He has been an Ofsted inspector and a Local Leader of Education.  Tony currently leads on NPQ training and facilitates delivery of the peer to peer review work led by Schools Partnership Programme.  He has supported many schools in developing a collaborative, supportive and engaging process of self-evaluation and school improvement.

There will be some relevant, focused suggested reading and gap tasks, including a reflective journal exercise.

You have to attend all four sessions of the course. They will be held in person in the HEP training rooms, all from 2.30-4.30pm:

  • Tuesday 7 November
  • Wednesday 12 December
  • Tuesday 23 January
  • Tuesday 20 February
