Do you feel ready to confidently explain the choice and sequencing of content in your geography curriculum, and how this supports progression? Or how mapping is contextualised? How do you know your fieldwork is rigorous and purposeful? Do you have a clear idea about disciplinary thinking in geography and how we can get children to ‘think like geographers?
This session will introduce these basic questions, which are not only those that Ofsted might ask if they come in to do a Deep Dive in geography, but ones that we should be asking ourselves in our pursuit of a high-quality geography curriculum. We will examine some key findings from the Ofsted Research Review, and explore how we can develop, and share, a clear narrative for excellent geography that enables us to feel confident and ready to talk about geography.

– Know how to sequence selected content to build progression.
– Feel confident in talking about your geography curriculum to Ofsted.
